Who We Are:  YWOW is a community of younger widows and widowers that started in the Hampton Roads area of Southeast Virginia. We have members all over the United States.

Our Mission:  YWOW is a non-profit organization which provides a safe environment to men and women who have lost their spouses much too early in life. We offer unique mutual support, bereavement resources and social events in order to help “rebuild our lives, dreams, and identities.”

Our Vision:  YWOW is nationally recognized as a dynamic, responsive organization that provides unique grief services to young, widowed people.

Our Values: 
Based on our personal grief journeys, we look to provide a non-judgmental environment to guide those new to this journey, and seek our assistance. Our values include:

Integrity - Our focus is on the widows and widowers we serve. We strive for excellence through evaluation and continuous improvement of our programs and services.

In our mission statement we strive to provide a "safe environment" to men and women who have lost their spouse too early in life. We define a safe environment to include the physical, emotional and psychological safety of our members.
